Our Educational Philosophy
At ISAD, we believe that design education must go beyond theory. Our curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning through studio projects, workshops, and real-world case studies. From the very first day, students engage with materials, software, and design challenges that mirror professional practice. This practical focus ensures that graduates are not only knowledgeable but also immediately employable.
We foster an interdisciplinary approach, encouraging students to explore connections between interior design, garden design, product design, and digital technologies. This broad perspective equips our graduates with the versatility to adapt to evolving industry demands and to innovate across traditional boundaries.
Programs and Courses Overview
ISAD offers a range of programs tailored to different career goals and experience levels. Our flagship Bachelor in Interior Design provides a comprehensive foundation in spatial design, materials, lighting, and furniture. For those seeking advanced specialization, the Master in Interior Design delves into complex project management, sustainable design, and high-end residential and commercial spaces.
In addition to degree programs, we offer short courses and workshops that allow professionals and enthusiasts to upgrade specific skills. The Garden Design Milano course focuses on landscape architecture and urban green spaces, while our Yacht Design program is one of the few in Europe dedicated to nautical interiors and exteriors. For those needing a flexible path, the Basic Bachelor 180 ECTS option provides a structured route to a recognized degree.
Student Life and Support Services
Life at ISAD extends beyond the classroom. Milan itself is a living laboratory of design, from the historic Brera district to the futuristic CityLife development. Students regularly participate in field trips to design studios, factories, and exhibitions such as the Salone del Mobile. Our study trips, like the recent visit to Lyon, provide international exposure and inspiration from architectural masters.
We understand that transitioning to a new city or country can be challenging. ISAD's student services team assists with accommodation, visas, and integration into Milanese life. We also offer career counseling, portfolio reviews, and job placement support to help graduates launch their careers. Alumni remain part of the ISAD community, with ongoing access to events and professional development resources.

We seek students who demonstrate creativity, motivation, and a genuine passion for design.
